RIASA Student Support Officer

Salary range: £32,500 plus benefits
We are now seeking to appoint a RIASA (Richmond International Academic and Soccer Academy) Student Support Officer to support students at the University’s Leeds Campus in Headingley.
The post-holder will provide information, advice, guidance, and pastoral support to students across a range of areas including UK immigration, health and wellbeing, student accommodation, transport, banking, medical care, and academic support. As part of the Student Affairs team, the Officer will help foster a positive student experience in all areas of student life.
The Officer will also work closely with the RIASA Head of Department and Campus and IASA Coaching Staff to support all students in achieving their full potential.
Main Duties
The RIASA Student Support Officer’s responsibilities include:
Offering front-facing student support during set office hours.
Meeting with individual students to discuss issues as they arise.
Assisting in planning and implementing new student orientation programmes.
Managing files on immigration documents and liaising with London-based UKVI support teams.
Producing University letters for banking and enrolment purposes.
Advising on internal and external student accommodation.
Responding to student, faculty, and staff queries via email.
Supporting RIASA’s student leadership team, including training, implementation of services, and performance evaluation.
Tracking student staff hours and submitting time sheets to the finance office.
Maintaining and updating residence life manuals and student life publications.
Overseeing social media related to student activities, encouraging student leader involvement.
Helping to plan student events and trips that foster community spirit.
Liaising with the recruitment team to provide prospective students with insight into the RIASA student experience.
Collaborating with IASA coaching staff to promote a positive student experience.
Working with external counsellors to support students.
Assisting with Student Government initiatives.
Adhering to and promoting University health and safety policies.
Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Vice President (Pro Vice-Chancellor) Student Affairs and the RIASA Head of Department and Campus.

Location and Requirements
Based primarily at the University’s Leeds Campus (Headingley).
Occasional travel to London may be required for training or events.
Some evening and weekend work required.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at the required level will be carried out.

Essential
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students and external partners.
Sensitivity, honesty, and integrity in all interactions.
Strong time management and ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment.
Experience in delivering student activities and programmes.
Ability to recruit, motivate, and manage student leaders.
Experience working in small teams to deliver projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database management, social media, and website editing.
Understanding of higher education and empathy with Richmond University’s mission.
Knowledge of GDPR requirements.
Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable
Experience in public speaking and delivering presentations.
Experience planning and evaluating small and large-scale events.
Experience working with international students.
