Richmond University is seeking a highly motivated, confident and enthusiastic HR and Payroll Specialist to join our small HR team. The HR and Payroll Specialist will be responsible for payroll and pensions administration and support the effective running of day-to-day HR duties. This role will be closely working with our Payroll team in regard to payroll and pensions queries.

This is a hands-on operational role, acting as a first point of contact for payroll and pensions queries (USS and Standard Life pension schemes) and HR generalist advice, maintaining accurate employee records, and supporting HR processes across the employee lifecycle. The role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys a varied position spanning payroll coordination, pensions administration, HR operations, and compliance within a small, collaborative higher education environment.

You will have a previous experience in an HR and/or payroll administrative role and pensions administration or dealing with pensions queries. You will have knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice and strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
